Dear Back2Basics Families,

This Friday the boys packed up everything they needed for a basecamp in Silverton, Colorado. Once the van was all loaded up with our gear we started the six hour drive.  Silverton Colorado is a very small and beautiful mountain town full of trees and views. Friday evening we found our camp spot and made tortellini and sausage for dinner then retired to our tents.

Saturday morning we woke up, made breakfast and headed out to hike to Ice Lake Basin in the San Juan National Forest. The six mile hike was tough but very well worth it!  At the top of the hike we ate lunch at a crystal blue ice lake.  After our hike, we drove a little while out to a cliff/bridge jump which was very relaxing. We did some flips and tanning before we drove back to camp.  At camp we made dinner, played cards and then headed to bed.

Sunday we floated down the Durango River, going through some small rapids and one big rapid at the end of the float.   After a long hike the day before we enjoyed the cold and refreshing water during the float. After floating the river, we made the six hour drive back to Flagstaff where we found a nice camp spot for the night. Monday morning we headed back to the Hunter House.

The fellows worked well together managing the different responsibilities and tasks needed for a successful trip.  During one of our groups, we supported one of the fellows sharing his story.  The boys loved this trip and can’t wait for next weekend.

With Love,
B2B Boys
