Young Men in Blue Helmets

Dear Families, on this trip we helped the US Forest Service with a few projects. On the first day we met up with a guy named Paul who needed help picking up trees that he had cut down. The trees that were cut down were deemed likely to fall at some point in the future so he cut them down and we picked them up. We went to our camping spot after work and made some kebobs for dinner than had a meeting on complacency. We worked for about 7-8 hours each day doing good ole fashion manual labor!

On the second day we made some real nice trails and we used some awfully cool named tools; such as McCloud and a fireman’s pickax! After that we picked up some more trees. We had a nice journaling session at Lake Mary the next day and then had a good meeting with each other on what were working on in the program and our relationship with our higher power. We had burgers and brauts for dinner…Delicious! It was a totally sweet trip!!!!!

The following morning, we made some bomb pan of cakes with jet fuel coffee, we proceeded to do some more work with the U.S Forest Service around the camp site we had the pleasure of staying at. After we headed out on a 20-minute journey back to our humble domain, on arrival we de-rigged the van and enjoyed in having the pleasure of a job well done with a full weekend filled with hard work and a beautiful day’s rest. Were looking forward to be able to have such an experience again such as this one.
